Happy Hearts Day

We had a great day...What a beee-utiful girl! She was wearing her cute Valentine's shirt that we bought last year, right after we found out she was going to be a girl.


We went to a late lunch with my parents to Cafe Trio...yum... and then went bowling. We had so much fun and Rylie loved babysitting Mckenna!

Cheese Puff

Cheese puff is Mckenna's new nickname (for the moment) because she has started to do the CHEESIEST smile lately. This picture is close, but it still isn't as cheesy as it normally is. We LOVE it! So the face is how the nickname Cheese Ball started...then Jeff decided that it would be better to call her Cheese Puff, so the name stuck! She is pretty darn cute though!!!

She also FINALLY cut her first tooth all the way yesterday! WOOHOOO! She was crabby all day on Monday, so I felt her gums and you could feel the very corner of the tooth. Then yesterday afternoon I felt and it had cut all the way through. For now she is a one-toother and hopefully the next one won't be so bad!

She is the sweetest baby. Now that the the tooth isn't bothering her and she isn't sick any more she is the HAPPIEST baby again. All day today she has been amazing. She played on the floor for an HOUR today while I helped Jeff in the yard and made dinner. I did have to feed her the little Gerber Sweet Potato Puffs, but hey I got a WHOLE hour! She is starting to scoot on her bum, too. I left her inside while I was helping Jeff. When I walked outside she was sitting close to the white basket (in the picture below) and when I came in she was sitting in the spot that I took her picture in! What a cute girl!

She has also become quite the nudist (as shown---Don' worry I don't usually let her be naked all day long. She actually still had her PJs on right before that picture was taken. I took them off to throw then in the laundry. ). She LOVES being naked. Her favorite part of the day is when we take her feet out of her pajamas. She kicks her legs like crazy. She has also discovered that she likes to play naked when I change her diaper. I usually let her "air out" for a while and it is hilarious how happy it makes her.

Her next big accomplishment in the last couple of weeks is this....

Playing in her room by HERSELF! Ahhh, this is heaven! She is so happy to just sit on that rug and play. She plays longer because she doesn't see me walking by every minute. Right now she is starting to get a little mommy attached. If she is playing and I walk by she thinks I need to pick her up (even though 9 times out of 10 I don't...) I highly recommend letting your kids play in their rooms by themselves, it is wonderful! I just turn the monitor on and do whatever I need to get done! Love it!

These are the pretty blossoms on our apple tree right now! I think the apple tree is SO pretty! I can't wait to get fruits and veggies from everything. Now that it is warming up a little everything is starting to grow really well- yay! The raspberries and blackberries are even getting good leaves. It is excited.
In other news...
We are headed to Utah tomorrow morning. We are going to be there for Valentine's Day and our anniversary. I can't wait to see my family and the Phillip's family- woohoo! I will take lots of pictures and eat lots of good food like Brick Oven, Spaghetti Factory and Tucanos!!! Yummmmm!
Well, I need to pack, but I promise that Europe pictures will come in the next week!!! Yikes, I am a slacker!!!!

Our Saturday....

Yesterday started out normal...wake up, feed Mckenna, feed myself...BUT we had something exciting to do! We were meeting Jenni and Mason in the Six Flags parking lot for some Rodeo event (a BBQ cook-off). So, we got ready, put Mckenna down for a good nap, and then headed out. We left a tiny bit late (we wanted to leave by 12:30pm and we left our house just before 12:40pm) no big deal, right? WRONG our normal 15 minute drive to Six Flags took us almost an HOUR!!! The traffic was awful (I will complain about the stop lights on the 1604 another time)!!!!! We finally get there and some grouchy cop tells us we can't park at Six Flags. So, we have to park at UTSA and then take a shuttle over to the event. No big deal, except that we have like a ginormous stroller and a baby! Not so easy on a shuttle bus! We head over to UTSA, don't find the shuttle, and then turn around to go see if they will let us park at Six Flags again (because Jenni said tons of people were leaving....) The cop stops us before turning into the parking lot and tells us the same thing again! Jeff proceeds to get in a little argument with the grouchy old cop about letting us go into the parking lot and drop Mckenna (and I) off. Jeff asked what would happen if he were to turn into the parking lot anyway and the cop said "I will tow your car and arrest you".... haha.... So we turn back around- all mad- and drive to UTSA again. Finally we found the shuttle bus, but there was about a 45 minute line to get onto the bus! What a joke! There was no way we were doing that, so we left (and we still feel so bad that we left Jenni and Mason). Who knew it could be so busy? And lesson learned- on Saturday we need to find a new route to Six Flags!

So SORRY Konkle's! We will make it up to you- I promise! What a day...
