The picture says it all

Yesterday, Jeff and I were driving home with Jana (Jeff's sister) from the movie theater. It was raining, but we noticed that her windshield was awfully muddy. We thought it was just extra dust from the car or the road, but when Jana- who was in a white shirt- stepped out of the car we realized... IT WAS RAINING MUD!!!!! We eventually found out that there had been a dust storm right before the rain, so when the rain came down it had lots of dirt in it! Our car ended up looking beautiful and today when we have driven by all of the car washes there have been lines atleast 20 minutes long! What weird weather!

Baby Bump

Well, several people have asked if I look pregnant yet. Jeff and I definitely think that I do, but it isn't that noticable to other people. I am not really complaining because I will be happy in the end not to be SUPER pregnant, but I would love to atleast look kind of pregnant!!! Well, I have this pink shirt that does a great job of showing my little baby bump. Don't look at my face too long though because I look horrible in the picture, but my tummy is growing!!!!

She has been moving so much more too! It is really fun to feel her squirming around and even more fun when Jeff gets to feel her move too! She has a very bad habit of kicking when I have a full bladder though (which is almost always) and that is not very pleasant for me!!!

Why I didn't Go to Law School...

For the past several weeks (and even more this week) Jeff has been working very hard on his big assignment for the semester. The second semester of Legal Research and Writing has one grade, a 16 page brief- if you are wondering what that means ask Jeff! Jeff had to research about several different cases and come up with his argument on the subject, but it isn't just legal research... He now has to write a great 16 page paper, that has to follow very strict guidelines. Luckily, Jeff is the strong writer in our little family. I can read fiction books all day long, but ask me to write a paper and I just can't (and that is why I was an Elem. Ed. major... I got to read children's books all day). On the other hand, Jeff can make any boring subject sound amazing on paper!

Every night this week Jeff has spent lots of time in the office. I have been doing odd projects around the house while he works so hard. It gets kind of boring and lonely while he is working, so the puppy and I play a lot but I also need to have a movie or some music on to keep me company. Since we have a small house all the noise is distracting to Jeff, but he is sweet and instead of asking me to turn off the noise he wears the cute, noise-canceling headphones shown above. I don't get as bored and he has his quite writing time. The paper is due on Friday the 14th and I can NOT wait for him to be done. I feel way more stressed about him doing well than he does!!! I know he will do amazing well though and I am exceptionally proud of all the hard work he does! He will be a great lawyer some day!!!

VISITORS!!!!

Ever since we bought our house and moved to San Antonio I have wanted visitors. Of course my amazing sister-in-law, Jana, and her family (they live 7 minutes from us...) have been here dozens of times and served as great visitors...roasting marshmallows, hot dogs, playing games, and even a great High School Musical #2 party! But, I have really wanted other people to come visit us, especially my mom and sisters! WELL, I just got the confirmation today that my little sister and little brother are coming to visit in the middle of April!!!!! I am SO excited!!! On top of that my Brother-in-law, Sister-in-law, and their kids are coming from Arizona for spring break!! They won't be staying here, but they will get to see our cute house and it will be SO fun to see them! There girls are super adorable!!!

Only a couple of weeks after Tyler and Rylie leave our great friends Cody and Amber are coming to visit us. So within a matter of a month we are so privileged to have not one, not two, but THREE sets of visitors and of course I AM ECSTATIC!!!!!!! Now I just have to get the guest room all ready for someone to stay in it (until now it has been storage)!

On a side note- if anyone has any ideas of things to do with a 13 and 15 year old here in San Antonio I am all ears!!!!

FiRe!!!!!!!

I was driving home from an appointment one morning and noticed the there was a bunch of smoke in the sky. It was an extremely windy day so I figured that there was a fire off in the distance and the smoke was blowing around from that. As I got closer to our house I noticed that the stop lights were not working. I got even closer to our house and realized that the fire was RIGHT behind our house!!! YIKESSSSS!!! So, we have a small field right behind our house and then a main road, on the other side of that road there is a large field. The big field was on fire! A power line blew over and caught a median on fire. The fire jumped across the road and caught the field on fire. I watched it grow and shrink from our backyard. I stood on the power box in the backyard and took some pictures. After awhile the fire department had several fire trucks and men trying to put the fire out. Finally the fire burned all the way up the road. I started getting kind of scared that the fire would jump across the road into our small field. About that time the fire department put three fire trucks on the main road between our field and the field on fire. I felt better once they did that!! I have never seen something burning SO close to home. Once the fire was out I couldn't have been happier :-)!!!!! P.S.- It was much scarier in real life than it looks in the picture!

The first brush-fire truck on the scene. It was cool to see it spray water out the front of the truck.

This was when I started freaking out a little!!!! The fire was at the roads edge and about 2 1/2 foot flames. Right after this flared up is when they put the three fire trucks on this section of road. There was probably only 30-40 feet between me and these menacing flames!!!!

Baby ??? Jones

On February 5th we went to the doctor for sonogram #3. We were HOPING that we could find out the sex of the baby, but I was trying now to get my hopes up. The lady who was performing the sonogram checked all the necessary things (measuring the head, femur, checking for enough blood vessels, etc.) When she finished doing all the things she needed too she showed us a picture and said "She is a Girl!!!" We had placed bets (sort of...) on the way to the doctors office. JEFF WON!!! He got to choose where we ate dinner and he choose Cheesecake Factory.

After the doctors office we went to Target and I got to buy my first outfit for the baby!!! It was really exciting to choose some cute little pink pajamas for her! Now I can't wait to meet her!!!!!

Puppy!

In August we adopted a cute little puppy. He is black and white and is a border collie mix (who knows what he is mixed with...) At the Humane Society his name was Paco, haha. Once he was home we named him Rowdy. It is such a suitable name for him! He has been a lot of fun to have in the "family" (and I use that term loosely!)
