Baby Girl

On the 15th we were able to do a 3-D ultrasound. They start with a normal ultrasound to check on all of the normal things. She looks healthy and weighs in at 2 lbs 7 oz (holy cow…she’s HUGE!). She was all squished and had both hands and both feet above her head. Her umbilical cord was also in front of her face. With all of those things in front of her it made it really hard to get a good “picture” of her, but I think these are cute anyway. While we were watching the ultrasound we noticed she was moving her lips moving in and out (kind of like sucking). The nurse got an adorable picture of her with her bottom lip all tucked in!! I can not wait to meet her!!!!

Coolest "old people"

Jeff and I constantly laugh at ourselves. Both of us have served in the YM and YW recently (most with the younger kids- 12 to 15) and feel that we are still young enough for the kids to relate too. Well, that DEFINITELY is not true for the teenagers. There have been several times when they would make comments that would make us feel so old! My first lesson that I taught in our ward in San Antonio I said something about being young and that I still remember very well the experiences of high school. The girls just looked at my like "Are you crazy?" So, I guess we are not as young as we sometimes view ourselves :-)... even though I am not even 22 yet!!! To help us feel young we have to do young, hip things- like play the Wii. Our favorite game has become Guitar Hero III, and it is AWESOME. Now, we have proof that we are COOL still. I took pictures of me playing with my niece and siblings, so that I could prove that we ARE the coolest "old people".

Tyler is AWESOME at this game. I play this game on medium and struggle- he plays it on expert! His fingers move so fast! I wish I would have taken a video for everyone to see!!!

So much to blog....

I have had such a busy, busy week and a half. Having my siblings here in San Antonio was awesome. We did so much!!! We did all of the touristy things here in San Antonio- Six Flags, Sea World, Riverwalk, Alamo, and even the Wildlife Park. We also had a 3-D ultrasound. That was so great (pictures to come later). I was definitely worn out by the end of the week!!!!

My first time at the Alamo (I found out it is also referred to Shrine of Texas Liberty- intersting, huh?) I look super pregnant in this picture, but the shirt makes me look big!

Tyler and Rylie on the Riverwalk boat ride. We had never done this before. It was so fun and beautiful!

One of my favorite activities that I took Tyler and Rylie to do (I was sad that Jeff couldn't come because of class) was the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. It is an African safari that you drive through. The animals come up to the car and you feed them. There are some really brave animals. One time I was watching Rylie feed a zebra and wasn't paying attention to my window. The next thing I know a huge zebra stuck its head through my window and used its nose to sniff my head and shoulder for food! I screamed, jumped about 10 feet in the air and sat on the center console. It was hilarious!!! If you are ever in San Antonio and want to drive about 30 minutes you should definitely take the trip.

soaking wet with freezing cold, salt water. What great memories!!!

Six Flags..again!

Tyler and Rylie got into town on Friday night. We decided that we would go to Six Flags on Saturday. We were there from 11am-9pm. This was the first time that Ty and Ry had been to an amusement park with lots of big roller coasters. Of course I couldn't ride again, but I really enjoyed walking around with them and standing in line. They were able to ride everything they wanted too and it ended up being a GREAT day to go. I can't wait to go ride the fun rides once I am not pregnant anymore. Anyone want to volunteer for babysitting right now? ha ha! We were so glad that my siblings got to come and spend sometime with us though. I am also glad that they got a little experience with roller coasters because roller coasters are AWESOME!

Baby Shower!!

My sister Cassi and I at my baby shower. It was so much fun seeing so many people
I am really glad that I got the chance to spend time with my wonderful mom and sisters,
as well as my cousin, Grandmas, and sibling-in-laws! We got some really cute
girl things, too! I was very excited to bring it all home to show Jeff.
Thank you so much to everybody who came! I am glad that I got to see some many
people and enjoy there company. We really appreciate
all of the great baby things that we got! One of my favorite gifts is a beautiful quilt my grandma
made for the little baby! I can't wait for her to use all of the fun things!

Planet Earth

This week while I have been at home folding laundry, vacuuming, etc. I decided I would turn on the "Planet Earth" movies (given to us as a present from my wonderful ex-employers). I think I have watched like 6 episodes so far. They are quite enjoyable to watch (or listen to) and there are a ton of facts to learn. Like yesterday I learned that Panda bears can't hibernate because of their food source. Bamboo isn't rich enough in nutrients to give Pandas the stores they need to sleep all winter. So the Pandas are pretty lonely in the mountains of China when it is snowy outside! Also, they are like TERRIFIC mothers and it is so cute the see a Mommy Giant Panda with her baby. Anyway, that's a little off topic. So today I was checking my e-mail and chatting with Jeff- via IM, while he is in the library- and watching the "Shallow Seas" episode. They showed this group of Bottlenose dolphins swimming and catching fish. Right then I decided that I WANT TO BE A DOLPHIN. This dolphins were playing in the waves and being kind of silly and then the next minute they had to be incredibly strong and super smart to catch their prey! Dolphins are basically the coolest animal! I mean they swim like fish, but are mammals. They use sonar to track their way through water. They pretty much do some AWESOME things. Also, at SeaWorld the dolphin exhibit (where you get to FEED the dolphins) is my ABSOLUTE favorite!!!! You can actually touch the cute dolphins. I beg Jeff everytime we go to pay the $5 to feed them, and it is sooooo worth it! If you ever get to go to Sea World San Antonio you have to feed them.

Anyway, if you ever get a chance to watch this show on the Discovery channel or on DVD they are so great. If you ever want to borrow them, you can!!! They are so cool that they will make you want to become a dolphin!
